Okay this blog post is for the guys: so ladies, you can keep on reading but I also ask that you share this post with the guy in your life. For those of you who are local to the Traverse City Area I would like to invite you to our upcoming Men’s Bible Study that will be starting on January 9th. We will meet at the church at 6am each Tuesday for 9 weeks (each session is about an hour and a half in length).
The topic of this upcoming series is on the FAMILY, God’s men living out God’s purpose in front of their families. More than ever, families are desperate for spiritual leadership and that start with the husband and the father. This study will help men accept their calling to their families through the discussion of topics that are at the core of a man’s responsibility. There are several important elements to each session that I would like to go over briefly.
Although we will be connecting as men to discuss the Biblical teachings in the series, we will also be meeting to discuss the issues that affect every man’s life. We will see that many times what seems like un-related issues in our private life actually affects our role as a husband and a father. As we take the time to connect with other men we will see we are not alone in this challenging responsibility we are called to.
Each session will have Biblical teaching and study that we will do corporately and individually. Every participant will receive a workbook that will help facilitate the personal Bible study and the group time.
SPECIFIC GROUP PRAYER
Along with the Bible study we will take time each session for specific group prayer requests. The Bible is clear that God is our provider and that we NEED to go to Him in prayer. He is a GOOD Father who wants His children to come to Him for help and encouragement. Therefore we will dedicate time each session to pray for the specific prayer request of the group.
For a men’s Bible study to work it requires commitment from each participant to not only show up, but also to do the “at home daily devotional” and apply the principles they learn into their life. Commitment is key for all involved.
Life growth is the promise from God as we do the hard work of shaping our character. Please commit to joining us for the 9 week study on the FAMILY (Leading a Family); you will grow strong through the process.
