Friday’s Fast Five | 1.13.17

Welcome back to my weekly series; Friday’s Fast Five; five quick topics that caught my attention this past week and I think you will like them too!  Here’s this week’s Fast Five…

Number 1

Football Sunday, I don’t know about you but these next few weeks of the NFL season (the post-season) are my favorite.  EVERY GAME COUNTS.  You lose you are done.  There a some great games this week and I hope that the Patriots Saturday and move on in the play-offs.  Well, I say all this because these games will lead us up to the Super Bowl.  Each year our church host a Super Bowl party for families and this year we will be using a resource called Football Sunday during the Halftime show of the Super Bowl.

“Football Sunday” is a 30-minute video event that plays across America on the day of the football championship, February 5, 2017.

Presented by our partners The Increase, “Football Sunday” features exclusive interviews with professional football players like Benjamin Watson, Anquan Boldin, and Brandon Marshall sharing their faith in Christ.

I hope you can make it to our Super Bowl party; if not, you can watch the Football Sunday video by registering HERE.

Hammer Nutrition, Over the past year and a half I have really pushed myself physically with my training.  I do mostly cardio workouts but I also do large sets of push-ups and sit-ups.  Because of the intensity of my workouts I have found that my body needs to be replenished with quality vitamins and nutrients.  Hammer Nutrition has become my Go To supplement provider.

I use several Hammer products to promote sustained health and recover after intense workouts.  Daily, I use their vitamin product; after a normal workout I use their Recoverite supplement; and after extreme workouts or events I will use several other supplements along with the Recoverite (Tissue Rejuvenator, Super Antioxidant, and AO Booster).  If you are working out and/or competing in endurance events you should check out Hammer.  Great Company with fantastic products.

Number 3

Extreme Ownership; I started reading this book last month and got bogged down with other resources so I wasn’t able to finish it.  Nevertheless, it is a great read with lots of leadership principles.  In the book, the authors (former US Navy SEALs) will describe real training or combat stories and then relate them into everyday leadership roles.  In the few chapters I have read I have learned the meaning of EXTREME OWNERSHIP.  I plan to finish the book this weekend.

Number 4

Covenant Eyes, Personal integrity and accountability are very important to me.  It is critical; because of my background, that I have accountability with my connected devices (i.e. phone, tablets, PCs, etc…).  Therefore, I use Covenant Eyes software on all my connected devices.  Here’s how it works, I install the CE software on my device and it will track all the websites I visit then email a report to my “Accountability Partners” (guys that I trust and are willing to confront me when they see a red flag in my report).  What I like about the software is that it doesn’t STOP me from visiting a site but it does report what site I visit.  What’s more, if I simply delete my browser history I cannot delete the CE report.  CE records and stores my viewing off-site so I cannot manipulate it in anyway.  If you have questions about CE or would like to learn how to kick your bad habit of looking at things online you shouldn’t be looking at please email me – I’d love to help (
