BVD – Self-Evaluation

DBV - Self-Evaluation

For today’s Bible Verse I want us to look at Revelation 2 – a discussion between Jesus and a church.

In the passage Jesus is confronting the church on they’re lifestyle and misplacing their “first love”.  It is a great passage that we can use in our everyday life to evaluate where we are.

Visualize this in your life:

If Jesus came to you right now and gave you a “Job Performance Review” what do you think He would say?

This is where Self-Evaluation comes into play… we can pause our life and evaluate our own performance.

WARNING!!!

It’s important to evaluate our life compared to the Bible instead of others.  A proud person will evaluate themselves against others and think they are doing great – nothing has to change.  An insecure person will compare themselves to others and think they cannot do anything right.  Romans 12 says this:

Romans 12:3 (NLT)
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

So take some time today and evaluate your life compared to Christ Jesus and the Bible…

What are some areas of your life you can improve on?

What are some things in life you need to get back to doing?

What are some things you need to cut out of your life?
