It’s Mt. Bike Tuesday and I would like to share with you (especially my local readers) about a Mt Bike race coming up this Spring (May 24th). It’s called Conquer the Village and it’s a race located here in Traverse City at the historic State Hospital (now called the Commons). The race is a fast 3.3 mile loop in the hills of Traverse City. Here is the description from their website:
Conquer the Village is the ultimate Northern Michigan test. On the grounds of the historic and beautiful Commons, the timeless test of endurance and strength is measured. Short, intense laps take in a three hundred foot ascent to one of the highest points in Grand Traverse County. Racers won’t have much of a time to take in the views of West Bay before spilling back to race through the buildings that made up the former State Hospital. It’s the beauty, the thrill and the passion of mountain biking tucked into one of the most striking locales around.
Last year I volunteered for the race because I was not in “race-shape”; however, I am thinking hard about entering the race this year and I’m aided by the fact that I am working out on a regular basis.
Anyway, if you are local to Michigan and you Mt Bike I’d love to see you at the CTV Race. Check out their website for more information.
